How to Activate an Expired SSL in Let’s Encrypt in Apache – Ubuntu Linux

   


These the straight forward steps that help to renew an expired Let’s Encrypt powered SSL. Let’s Encrypt is a platform that offers free and legitimate certificates to all.

1.       Login to the Ubuntu server

2.       Type sudo certbot certificates this will show you the information of the certificate and expiration dates.

3.       Type /etc/init.d/apache2 stop to stop the Apache web service

4.       Type certbot-auto renew – that it the Let’s encrypt SSL certificate will be renewed

5.       Now type /etc/init.d/apache2 start – to start the Apache web service
